Youth Red Cross

Our college has an excellent unit of Youth Red Cross functions with the high aims of Protection of Health and Life, Service to the sick and suffering and Promotion of National and International Friendship. Jean Henri Dunant (8 May 1828 – 30 October 1910), a Swiss businessman and social activist was the founder of Red Cross Movement. The Red Cross Society is a worldwide, well known, universally accepted and admired and internationally identified humanitarian Service Organisation. The Indian Red Cross Society has a network of over 700 branches throughout the country, providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promotes health & care of the vulnerable people and communities.

The Seven fundamental principles:

3. Neutrality
4. Independence
5. Voluntary service
6. Unity
7. Universality

The Youth Red Cross is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross Youth Programme.

Activities of Youth Red Cross of our College:

• Organising Blood group identification and Blood donation programmes
• Organising awareness programmes on Eye donation, AIDS, anti tobacco etc
• Organising Disaster Management Programmes
• Organising First Aid Training Programmes
• Organising programmes on Road safety
