3. P.A.C. Ramasami Raja Memorial Scholarship

(Instituted by the Founder’s Day celebration committee of The Madras Cements Ltd. Tulukkapatti) to be given to a student of the I Degree class who has scored the highest percentage of marks in part III subject in the Higher Secondary Examination.

4. Sri. E. Muthiah Pillai Tamil Scholarship:

Awarded to the student joining the I Year Degree class with the highest marks in Tamil in the Higher secondary Examination from our school.

5. Thiru. I.A.C. Scholarship

(Instituted by Thiru. I.C. Iswaran and Thiru. I.C. Akilandam of IIanji) given to a deserving student of I year Degree class chosen by the Honorary Secretary and the Principal every year. The student will continue to enjoy the award for the subsequent two years.

6. Konguraya Avudaiammal Subramanian Memorial Scholarship

(Instituted by Thiru. Meena Arumugam & Thiru. Pethupandian Coimbatore) Awarded to the most deserving Karkarthar student in the second year Degree course who has performed academically well during the first year degree course both in the University and in college evaluation. chosen by a committee consisting of the Honorary Secretary and the Principal. If a karkarthar student is not available the choice may be a made from the children of Non- Teaching staff of the M.D.T Hindu College studying in the college.

7. Thiru. P. Kuppaswami Iyer Memorial Scholarship:

(Instituted by Thiru. K. Sivaraman B.Sc) Awarded to a Brahmin student of B.A., B.Sc.,B.Com., Degree Class, who has scored the highest but not less than 60% of the marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination for admission to the Degree Class and whose parent’s income does not exceed Rs. 3000/- P.A.

8.Karukurichi Sri.S. Sivaramakrishna Iyer and Srimathi Subbulakshmi ammal Memorial Scholarship:

(Instituted by Dr. S. Lakshmivarahan, University of Oklahoma USA) Awarded to two students, one in the II B.Sc Maths, class and the other in the III B.Sc., Physics class who have scored the highest marks aggregate in their part III subjects.

(Instituted by Thiru. K. Krishna Iyer Singapore) Awarded to two Brahmin students of III B.Sc., Chemistry and III B.Com., who have scored the highest marks aggregate in their part III subjects.

10. Lions Club of Palayamkottai Memorial Scholarship

(Instituted by Lions club palayamkottai) Awarded to the student of III B.Sc., Zoology who has secured the highest marks in the aggregate in part III Subjects.

11. Bharathi Centenary Memorial Scholarship

(Instituted by Parent Teacher Association, M.D.T Hindu College) Awarded to a poor deserving student joining M.A., Tamil selected by the Honorary Secretary and the Principal. The award will be continued during II M.A.,Tamil students selected by the Honorary Secretary and the Principal. The award will be continued during II M.A., provided the students progress is satisfactory.

12. Lions Club of Tirunelveli Scholarship

Awarded to the son of a member of the non teaching staff and if there is no such student, to the son of a member of the teaching staff and in the absence of such a one to any other student. He shall be in II B.A/B.Sc/B.Com./Class and should have secured the highest marks in part II English in the first year University Examination and not in receipt of any financial assistance.

13. Sri.M. Somasundaram Pillai and Srimathi Ramalakshmi Scholarship

(Instituted by Thiru.S. Muthuvel) to be awarded to a deserving student belonging to Saiva Vellalar Community in the I year Degree Class. The student will continue to enjoy the award for the II and III year Degree classess.

14. Thirumathi, M. Pitchammal Scholarship:

(Instituted by Thiru. K. Thayumanaswamy Hereditary Member Madurai) awarded to a student who has joined any P.G. Degree course other than M.A., Tamil having done the Degree course in our college. The scholarship shall be continued during the II P.G. Degree class also.

15. Thiru. M. Meenakshisundaram Pillai Scholarship:

(Instituted by Thiru. M. Ramaswamy M.A., Retd., Principal) The interest may be awarded as Scholarship to a good poor student of any community not receiving any financial help from any other sources and studying in the B.Sc/B.Com/B.A Course in our college.

16. Selvi M. Valliammal Ammaiyar Scholarship:

(Instituted by Thiru. M. Ramaswamy M.A., Retd, Principal) The interest may be awarded as Scholarship to the student during the second year of the degree course who received Thiru. M.Meenakshisundaram Pillai Scholarship during the I year of the degree course and whose character, conduct and progress have been continuously good. If not, it may be awarded to another poor good student if not, it may be awarded to another poor good student of 2nd year B.Sc/B.Com/B.A/ degree course of any community not enjoying any other financial assistance.

17.Thirumathi M. Parameswari Thayammal and Thiru. P. Muthiah Pillai Scholarship:

(Instituted by Thiru. M. Ramaswamy M.A. Retd. Principal) The interest may be awarded as Scholarship to the student of third year degree course who received selvi M. Valliammal Ammayar Scholarship during the 2nd year of the course and whose character conduct and progress have been continuously good. If not, it may awarded to any other poor and good student doing his 3rd year B.Sc/B.Com./B.A and not receiving any financial help from any other source.

18. Thiru. M. Ramasubbu Konar Endowment Scholarship:

(Instituted Managing Committee, The Education Society) given to a student who gets and produces the maximum number of prizes and certificates in Elocution or Quiz competitions conducted by various Bodies or Educational Institution. If not, the Scholarship is to be given to the winner of Essay, or poetry competitions.

19. Medai Dalavai Kumarasamy Mudaliar Endowment Scholarship:

(Instituted by the statue Installation committee) shall be awarded only to a poor bright student whose parents are not able to educate their ward without receiving scholarships. One Scholarship shall be awarded to a student who joins the first year P.G class & who has secured good marks in the U.G. University Examinations. The Scholarship shall be continued for the II year P.G Class provided the recipent passes all the I year papers without arrears. The scholarships shall be given to two students who join theI year U.G. class and who have secured good marks in the Higher Secondary Examinations. The Scholarship shall be continued for the II & III Year U.G Classes provided the recipients pass all the papers in the respective University Examination without arrears.

20. Endowment in the name of R. Muthu Childambara Shunmuga Vadivoo alias Deivanai alias Vellammal W/o.Thiru.C.A.K. Ratnasabapathy (President, 1969 -71 and Treasurer 1976 -77, The Educational Society, Tirunelveli) Instituted by her son Thiru. C.A.R. Shunmuga Chidambaram alias Kutty, Former Treasurer, The Educational Society Tirunelveli, and her daughter -in law Thirumathi Chellammal alias Shakunta lakutty on the occasion of the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of their Wedding on 7.12.1995, out of the funds raised by them from their family friends to the tune of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only).

1. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student of The M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli who joins any university in Tamilnadu for higher studies like M.B.A, M.C.A and M.Sc, (Computer Science).
2. The interest from the above endowment shall be given to only one poor, deserving meritorious outgoing student above 80% of marks in part III of the M.D.T. Hindu College who is not eligible to receive any kind of scholarship.
3.The student should have passed all the papers in the first attempt in each semester / non - semester University Examination during the course of study at The. M.D.T. Hindu College.
4. The conduct and character of the student should be certified satisfactory throughout his career at The.M.D.T. Hindu College by the Principal of the college.
5. If no student is found eligible for the award during particular year the interest accured can be carried over to the subsequent years and paid to the student who satisfies the conditions laid down in para 1-4.
6. The scholarship awarded to a student will be continued till the student completes the course of study at the university provided the student shows satisfactory progress with no arrears in each University Examination. The character and conduct of the student shall also be certified satisfactory by the University. Also the student shall produce evidence for good performance in the University Examinations for continuance of the scholarship.

21. Shri. K.N.Sundaresa Iyer and Shrimathi Rajalakshmi Ammal memorial Prize

Instituted by Dr. K.S Narayanan, Retd. Principal) A cash award of the interest amount to be given to the highest rank holder from U.G / P.G/ M.Phil (Semester) students of our college out of the list of rank holders received each year from the University to which our college is affiliated. Cash award shall be given to only one student each year. If there is no such rank holder in a particular year the award shall be paid in the subsequent year to the highest rank holder only.

22. Friends of Physics Endowment (B.Sc. Physics Students of 1990 -1993)

(Instituted by B.Sc. Physics students of 1990 - 1993 to be awarded to two students from the endowment fund of Rs. 10,000 / - (Rupees Ten Thousands only) This scholarship may be awarded to two students, one for the II B.Sc., Physics student and the other in the part III subjects in the I year and II year University Examinations respectively without any arrears. The interest amount may be equally distributed among the awardees. Incase there are no such students this scholarship may be awarded to the two best I year B.Sc Physics students who have joined with highest marks in Physics in the Higher Secondary Examinations.

23. Thiru. A.L.Subramanian B.Sc.,B.L Shashtiaptha poorthi Scholarship (Instituted by the Teaching staff of M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli - 10)

The scholarship shall b e paid to deserving meritorious and bright student of The. M.D.T. Hindu College, who must be the son / daughter of a member of the teaching staff of our college. If a son or daughter of the teaching staff is not available, the award may pass on to a son / daughter of a non teaching staff of The M.D.T. Hindu College. If no student is found eligible during a particular year the amount of scholarship shall be carried forward to the successive year and paid to a student who satisfies the conditions mentioned in paras 4 and 5.

24. The A.P. Paradesi Konar Endowments Prize (Cash Prize)

Awarded to a poor yadava student scoring highest marks in I year B.Sc. Physics.

25. B.Com Students Prize : (Cash Prize)

Awarded to the student who scores the highest marks in B.Com Degree exam in one sitting.

26. Mrs. Meenakshiammal and Mr. Pandara Sivan Endowment Prize :

(Instituted by Thiru.P.Sivaramakrishnan, Retd. S.G. Lecturer in zoology) 60% of the interest should be given to a III year zoology student who has secured the highest marks in zoology in the university exams. 40% of the interest should be given to a student of II year zoology who has secured the first mark in zoology. Both Prizes should be given in the form of books as per the student is wish or useful books for the student.

27. Thiru.A.Kailasam Chettiar and Mrs. K.Gomathi ammal (Instituted by Thiru.A.Kailasam Chettiar Sindupoondurai)

The prize (Scholarship) may be awarded to the II year Computer Science student belonging to Saiva Vellar, Saiva Chettiar and Vellan Chettiar community who has secured higher marks in the university exams and without any financial help from any other sources

28. Thiru. K.Sundaram and her brother Mr.Sivalingam (Who was an old student of our school) (Instituted by Dr. Bose, Retd HOD of Maths)

Paying tuition fees, university fees etc to the poor bright student of III B.Sc Maths or II M.Sc Maths from rural areas particularly to fatherless or motherless or both. He / She must not have arrears. If none is availble in a particular year, the interest may be carried over to the next year.

29. Late. Thiru. K.Ramasamy Pillai of Kiramanagalam (Instituted by Thiru. R.Kandasamy Retd., Principal)

A cash award (by cheque) is to be given every year to the best outgoing (B.Sc Chemistry) student of our college, who receives no Govt. scholarship during his / her studies in our college, except Govt. merit scholarship. attendance is a must to students and they should not receive any other scholarship from Govt. or from any other sources. Student conduct and morality should be good.

Awarded to a poor student of the I year Computer Science belonging to a Saiva Vellala Community who is economically backward.

34. Sri. Sirungeri Sankaracharya Swamigal Endowment Scholoarship

Students should have passed in all subjects. 80% of attendance is must students should not have got any other scholarship from Govt. or from any other sources. Student conduct and morality should be good.

35. Thiru. Pudumaipithan Century Memorial Endowment Prize:

This cash prize is instituted by The M.D.T. Hindu College & School Old Student’s Association on the occasion of the Mupperum Vizha held in our school on 13th February 2006. with a corpus fund Rs. 40000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand only) of which Rs. 35000/- was contributed by the Old Student’s Association and Rs. 5000/- by Mrs. Dinakari Chockkalingam daughter of Thiru. Pudumaipithan. The interest received from the corpus fund is to be utilised for awarding three cash prizes every year to the best three short stories in Tamil written by our college students. A three member committee will scrutinise the short stories received for the competition and rank them for the award. The Head of the Department of Tamil of our college will be the Chairperson of the committee and the other two members to be nominated by the Principal of our college one may be an old student of our college / school. The decision of the committee will be final. In case no short story is found fit for a particular rank (or rank) the prize amount along with the balance amount, if any, will be added to the corpus fund. First prize : Rs. 1000 /- (Rupees one thousand only) Second prize : Rs. 700 /- (Rupees seven hundred only) Third prize : Rs. 500 /- (Rupees five hundred only)

This Arakkattalai was instituted by the M.D.T. Hindu college and school Munnal Manavar Sangam during the mupperum vizha celebrated by them in our school premises. The interest accured shall be awarded as a cash prize to the outgoing student of the undergraduate class (III Year B.A / B.Sc/ B.Com degree class) of our college who has the maximum attendance which is not less than ninety five percent and whose conduct and character are certified to be good by the Principal of our college. If two or more students qualify for the award the prize money shall be equally shared by them all. If no student is found to be eligible for the award during a particular year then the interest accured shall be added to the corpus fund of the arakkattalai.

39. ThiruA.Arunagiri Memorial Prize Rs.1,00,000/-

(Instituted by Dr. R. Perumalsamy, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D, State Information Commissioner,Chennai.) Awarded to the first rank student in II PG Economics and the first rank student in III UG (English and Tamil media put together) in equal cash amounts every year.

40. SECRETARY A.L.S MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT

The M.D.T.Hindu College and the M.D.T.Hindu College Higher Secondary school are administered by the Educational society, Tirunelveli. Late Thiru A.L..Subramanian was the 15th President of the society and college for brief period of 4 years from 1976-1980 and 24th secretary of the Society for 22years from June, 1990 to October,2012

In order to pay homage and tribute to the distinguished Secretary and to fulfill his desire to uplift the students' community of socially and economically marginalized sector of the rural society both in college and school, it was decided to create an Endowment in the name of The Secretary A.L.S. Memorial Endowment.

Friends and well wishers of A.L.S. and Staff of Our College & School contributed liberally and a sum of Rs 11,50,000/- was deposited as corpus fund of the Endowment. During the Donor's Day Celebration held on 06.07.2013 Thavathiru Dr.Mouna Kumaraswamy Thambiran Swamigal of Tharumai Aatheeanam inaugurated the Secretary A.L.S Memorial Endowment.

The conditions of the Endowment are that 15% of the interest accrued shall be spent for the function to be held on 5th September of every year at The .M.D.T.Hindu College Hr.Sec.School premises being the date of birth of Thiru A.L.Subramanian .An eminent person may be invited as Chief Guest for the function.

Out of the remaining 85% balance of the accrued interest 50% of the amount will be awarded to the first five top rankers of X std of the M.D.T.H.C.Hr.Sec.School towards the total Tuition fees to pursue their +2 Study , provided they should continue their studies in our school .The residual balance will be allotted for the delivery of uniform to poor students as decided by the Management Committee.

The remaining 50% of the interest amount accrued in a year shall be equally awarded to the students of the M.D.T.Hindu College who score highest marks in 4 Semesters (I year and II Year) in B.A.Eco., (Tamil) ,BA .Eco. (English),B.Com., B.Sc. Maths ,Physics ,Chemistry, Zoology ,Computer Science and Physical Education.

On 05.09.2013 the renovated Seminar Hall in the college premises was named as Secretary A.L.S.Meeting Hall and declared open by Dr.M.Palaniappan M.D.,D.T.R.D.(Chest) F.C.C.P.(U.S.A), Appollo Hospitial Madurai. The first Endowment cash prizes were awarded to the meritorious students of the college and Higher Secondary School by ThiruKailayaparambarai Sengol Aatheenam 102 Gurumaha Sannithanam Srilasri Kalyanasundara Sathiya Gnanaparamacharial Swamigal of Perungulam.

41. Secretary Thiru K.N.Ammaiappa Muthaliar Endowment Scholarship

Dr.A.Namasivayam former Principal of The M.D.T.Hindu College has created an Endowment in the name of his father Secretary Thiru K.N.Ammaiappa Muthaliar Endowment Scholorship with a sum of Rs 1,00,000/-

The interest accrued from the corpus found will be awarded as Scholarship to two well disciplined students who are not eligible to receive any financial Assistance (scholarship) except merit scholarship of the Government

1) Top Scorer in +2 Exams admitted in the first year degree courses in the college
2) The top scorer in English in +2 Exam admitted in the College The above scholarship is to be awarded only at the end of the first year of their study in our College

The interest accured may be awarded as scholarship for two students in aided courses belonging to Saiva vellala community who had secured highest marks in +2 exam (I & II rank) admitted in the college for first year. In the absence of saiva vellala students the scholarship may be awarded to a student of any forward community Saiva Mudaliar / Chettiar / Brahmin. If no eligible students are available the interest amount may be carried over to the subsequent year.

The interest amount may be given to M.A.Tamil student for two years who is getting any other scholarship and come from poor family.
