The Department of Physical Education was established along with the inception of the college.

The Department of Physical Education, Health Education and Sports has been a unique programme which was initially funded by UGC for 5 years and then by the Government of Tamilnadu. The programme was incepted in 1990-91.It is a job-oriented programme and the graduates have easy access of placement in various schools. This is the only college affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University that offers the programme as an aided one.

The Department has all the major necessary facilities like Track and Play Field amenities, Gymnasium, Audio-Visual Aids, Gymnastic equipment, a Fitness Lab with equipment, Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium and ICT class rooms.

Multi Purpose Gymnasium

Our College focuses on the holistic development of students. As a sequel to this, equal emphasis is laid on sports and games along with academics. Students are encouraged to participate and excel in sports in order to provide relaxation, channelise their energy, nurture competitive spirit, enhance team spirit and achieve leadership qualities. Multipurpose Gymnasium is established with the financial ssistance of Rs 1 Crore from UGC and 21Lakhs from Mangement.
