Thiru B.T.Chidambaram was born on 15.06.1936. His parents were Dr.B.T.Pillai and Shunmugathammal. He hails from a reputed Hindu family, in shenkottai. Having completed B. Sc. in Xavier's college, palayamkottai, he joined Law college and got qualified as a lawyer. He joined the Tamilnadu Government service as an Executive Officer (H.R & C.E) and retried as a Deputy Commissioner (H.R & C.E) of the same department.

After retirement , he is a busy practicing lawyer in the District Court, Tirunelveli. Presently, he has been honoured with appreciation for his various services to the society. He holds prestigious position in various organizations listed below:

1. District Chairman, Lion's Club, Tirunelveli.
2. All India Secretary, International Association of Religious Freedom (IARF).
3. Vice-Chairman, Alumni Association, St. Xavier's College, Palayamkottai.
4. President, Senior Citizen Forum, Tirunelveli.
5. President, Tirunelveli Corporation Government Servants & Pensioners Association, Tirunelveli.

His positive suggestions as a Member of the College Management Committee contribute to the welfare of the institutions run by The Educational Society, Tirunelveli.
