STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAM for FRESHERS 01.07.26 - 03.07.26

Three-Day Student Induction Programme Conducted at The M.D.T. Hindu College

A three-day Student Induction Programme for the freshers was conducted at The M.D.T. Hindu College, Pettai, Tirunelveli, from 1 July 2026 to 3 July 2026.

The programme commenced on 1 July 2026 in the college auditorium. The participants were welcomed by Prof. Thiruneelakandan, Department of History. The Principal, Dr. K. Balasubramanian, inaugurated the programme and delivered the presidential address. Heads of the Departments of Tamil, English, Economics, Mathematics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Physical Education highlighted the unique features of their respective departments and explained the academic and career opportunities available to students. The College Librarian introduced the facilities and services of the college library and encouraged students to make effective use of them. The Director of Physical Education explained the various opportunities available in the field of sports.

On 2 July 2026, the second day's programme focused on the various student support services and co-curricular activities available in the college.

The afternoon session featured a motivational lecture titled "You Can Achieve", delivered by Prof. Soundara Mahadevan, Head of the Department of Tamil, Sadakathullah Appa College.

On 3 July 2026, the final day's programme began with a motivational address by Alumnus Prof. Arumuganathan, retired Professor of Mathematics from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. This was followed by an awareness programme on the safety and protection of women and children, conducted by officers of the Tamil Nadu Singappen Special Task Force. During the afternoon session, first-year students were taken on a guided tour of the college departments and library and were given opportunities to interact with senior students.

The three-day Student Induction Programme was coordinated by Mr. Sivagurunathan, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
