Entrepreneurship Development Cell
INTRODUCTION:
EDC was established in our college 15th March 2018 with a objective to mould the students as an innovative entrepreneurs.The cell act as a concrete bridge between students and industrialists. This enable the students to get industrial exposure during their academic career.EDC has taken a greater responsibility to develop entrepreneurial skills among the students which assist them to become a competent entrepreneur in this competitive world.
VISION:
To initiate the entrepreneurial talent and to inculcate innovative entrepreneurial skills among the students.
MISSION:
To create entrepreneurial interests among the students.
To develop the students become a versatile entrepreneurs.
To promote self employment opportunities.
To prepare the students to face the challenges and opportunities in the field.
To provide a platform for interaction with entrepreneurs.
Impart entrepreneurial skills amongst students through various trainings and practices.
SCOPE:
The cell perform its function on four levels:
1. Creating Awareness:
Industrial visit.
Discussion with expert entrepreneurs.
2.Imparting Entrepreneurial Skills:
Workshop on Business Organizations
Workshop on Project preparation and presentation
Workshop on idea generation for innovative business
Organizing Business Quiz.
Case study Presentation.
Workshop on Technological development.
3.Developing Attitudes:
Motivation Talks.
Expert Talks.
4.Follow up:
Providing guidance in Practical Business.
Objectives:
To organize entrepreneurs awareness camp, entrepreneurs development programmes and Skill Development Programmes.
Arranging industrial visit to acquire practical Knowledge.
Guiding students to prepare project reports, gaining knowledge about procuring loans and providing information on latest technologies.
Organizing guest lectures,workshops and seminars
To conduct skill development trainings to make self employment.
Nurturing the students with professional entrepreneurial talent.
To provide advice to assist the entrepreneurs in rehabilitating them.
Activities : 2023 - 2024
1. 39 Students enrolled for the Junior M.B.A Programme under Entrepreneurship Development Cell in collaboration with EKALAI Academy, Annamalai University, AIIRF – EDII, EDII-Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli.
2. 26 Students enrolled for 45 days Certificate Course in Aari Work conducted from 27-07-2023 to 06-10-2023.
3. 20 Students enrolled for 45 days Beautician Certificate Course in Aari Work conducted from 27-07-2023 to 06-10-2023.
EVENTS:
1.NAAN MUDHALVAN NIRAL THIRUVIZHA – 2024: EDC organized Naan Mudhalvan Niral Thiruvizha Hackathon Entrepreneurship Awareness Programe on 29-01-2024 at 11 a.m – 1 p.m. Dr.K.Balasubramanian, Principal presided over the Programme, Dr.V.C.Shanker, Resource Person delivered a special lecture on Start Up Enterpreneurship. 120 Students benefited through this programme.
2. ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS PROGRAMME: EDC organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on 01-03-2024 for the Final year U.G & P.G Students. Mr.M.Siva Bharathi, Field Co- Ordinator, EDII, Anna University, Tirunelveli delivered a special lecture for the students.
Activities : 2022 - 2023
I. Courses Offered
a. Junior M.B.A Programme has been started on 4th August 2022 under EDC in collaboration with Ekalai Academy Coimbatore, Anna University, EDII-TN, Annamalai University- EDII with the enrolment of 60 students.
b. Certificate Course in Aari work with the duration of 45days has been started on 22.09.2022 with enrolment of 47 students.
c. Certificate Course in Beautician with the duration of 45days has been started on 22.09.2022 with enrolment of 47 students.
II. Activities
a. Five students from EDC has been participated in the vocational training Programme on hygienic napkin and diaper manufacturing organized by Entrepreneurship guidance cell, palayamkottai on 07.09.2022.
b. Five day training programme for Pillow & Organizing box making has been organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell from 17.10.2022 to 21.10.2022. Six students participated and benefited through this training Programme.
c. One month training Programme for Jute bag manufacturing has been organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell from9.1.2023 to 13.02.2023.
d. 15 days training programme on pot making organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell from 20.02.2023 to 15.03.2023.
e. On the occasion of “WORLD CREATIVITY & INNOVATION DAY- April 21,2023 120 students from the Entrepreneurship development cell of the M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli has participated in the webinar on “”WORLD CREATIVITY & INNOVATION DAY” Organsized by entrepreneurship Development and \Innovation Institute [EDII, T.N] Tamilnadu on 21.04.2023 in EDII campus, Chennai through virtual mode.
III. FUNDED PROGRAMME
a. One Day Entrepreneurship Development programme has been organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell, P.G & Research Department Of Commerce, the M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli- 10. Sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development & Innovation (EDII) Innovation of Entrepreneurship Development Programme (IEDP), Government of Tamilnadu with the amount of Rs.10,000.
b. Half-A-day Awareness Programme on Social Entrepreneurship has been organized by Entrepreneurship Development cell, P.G& Research Department Of Commerce, the M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli- 10. Sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development & Innovation (EDII) Innovation of Entrepreneurship Development Programme (IEDP), Government of Tamilnadu with the amount of Rs.5000.
c. National Conference On Innovative Trends for Blooming export – Preneurs Cop Fest Expo On 20 & 21 march 2023 has been Organized by career oriented programme on Import and Export management and Entrepreneurship Development cell, P.G& ResearchDepartment Of Commerce, the M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli- 10.

1) Entrepreneurship awareness meeting on “Earn While You Learn” has been organized on 12/07/2019 with the resource persons Ms.Sanjana Sujith, CEO,Syrass Cakes and Bakes, Medavakkam, Chennai and Mr.K.Selvaraj, Propreitor,M.M Traders, Tirunelveli. 66 participants where benefited in this programme.
2) Entrepreneurship meeting on “How to Improve Successful Entrepreneurs” has been organized on 29/07/2019 with the resource person Dr.S.Mabel Latha Rani, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Co-ordinator EDC, RaniAnna Government College for Women, Tirunelveli. 87 Participants where benefited through this programme
3) Awareness meeting on “Innovative Personality Skills for Entrepreneurs” has been organized on 14/08/2019 with the resourse person Dr.K.Viswa Sarojini devi, Assistant Professor, P.G & Research Department of Commerce, The M.D.T Hindu College. 65 Participants where benefited through this programme
4) Awareness meeting on “Imparting Technological skills for Young Entrepreneurs” has been organized on 04/08/2019 with the resource person Dr.P.Velmani,Assistant Professor,Department of Computer Science,The M.D.T Hindu College. 62 Participants where benefited through this programme
5) “Creative Ideas for Budding entrepreneurs” An awareness programme has been organized on 01/10/2019 with the resource person Dr.N.Sankaragomathi,Assistant Professor,P.G & Research Department of Commerce,The M.D.T Hindu College. 60 Participants where benefited through this programme.
6) Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on “Developing Communication Skills for Budding Entrepreneurs” has been organized on 11/12/2019 with the resource person Dr.N.Sankaragomathi,Assistant Professor,P.G & Research Department of Commerce,The M.D.T Hindu College. 52 Participants where benefited through this programme.
7) “Improving Healthy Minds of Young Entrepreneurs” an awareness programme organized on 31/01/2020 with the resource person Dr.K.Perumal,Assistant Professor of Linguistics, The Tamil University Tanjore. 75 Participants where benefited through this programme.
8) Awareness meeting on “Social Responsibility of Students in Corporate World” organized on 17/02/2020 with the resource person Ms.P.Aswathi Ravieendran,State Level Master,Trainer,DRDA, Tirunelveli. 100 Participants where benefited through this programme.
Seminar/Workshop Organized:
Organized “ Three days Entrepreneurship Awareness camp” P.G & Research Department Of Commerce, The M.D.T Hindu College, Tirunelveli from 16th September 2019 to 18th September 2019, sponsored By National Science and technology entrepreneurship development board (NSTEDB),Department of Science and technology,Government of India, New Delhi, EDII, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

59 students Participated Certificate Course in Entrepreneurship Development Programme conducted by Entrepreneurship Development Cell Collaboration with AURCT-IEDP Hub, Anna university and Tamilnadu Open University, School of Management Studies, Anna salai, Saidapet, Chennai.

1) Five Students in the Training Programme on “ Youth leadership and Community development Programme” organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra , Tirunelveli District held at Meenakshi Mahal from 26th February 2019 to 28th February 2019.
2) Four Students participated in the vocational training awareness programme “Hygenic Napkin and Diaper Manufacturing”, organized by Entrepreneurs guidance cell palayamkottai,on 2nd April 2019
3) Three Students Participated in Bio-Enzyme Training Programme Organized by Vazgha Valamudan Centre, Pettai on 22 July 2019.
4) Two Students Participated in Two Days E-Leadership Workshop on 30th and 31st August 2019 organized by PMO-IEDP (Programme Monitoring Office- Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Programme), Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli.
5) Five Students Participated in One Day Take off Programme on 7th September 2019 organized by AURCT-IEDP Hub, Anna University Regional Campus, Tirunelveli.
6) Three Students Participated in “ Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp” Organized By F.X Engineering College-Tirunelveli on 9th October to 11th October 2019.
7) Five Students Participated in “Innovation Day”Competitions Organized By F.X Engineering College-Tirunelveli on 10th October 2019.
8) Three Students Participated Training Programme in “ Beekeeping” Organized by EDII Kabif and Dept of Agri.Entomology Tirunelveli on 10th October 2019.
9) Ten Students Participated in Three Days Awareness Camp on 10th October to 12th October organized by Einstein College of Engineering, Seethaparpanallur, Tirunelveli
10) Twenty Three students participated in Kabif Food carnival Fest- A step Towards Innovative Food Products (Time for Food Rekla) on 15th October 2019 organized by Killikulam Agribusiness Incubation Forum, Killikulam and won Third cash prize of Rupees Two thousand.
11) Two Students Participated in the Programme on 19th December 2019 “Strategies in Rural Marketing” Organized by Lapsina Technology,Rural Shop.Com, Tirunelveli

Twenty Three students participated in Kabif Food carnival Fest- A step Towards Innovative Food Products (Time for Food Rekla) on 15th October 2019 organized by Killikulam Agribusiness Incubation Forum, Killikulam and won Third cash prize of Rupees Two thousand.
