Outreach programme
CONNECT
CONNECT is one of our Out Reach Programmes. The objectives of the programme is to kindle enthusiasm and to create an awareness about Cos, POs & PSOs in the minds of the young school children. Therefore, the neighbouring school children preferably from XI standard are invited to visit our science laboratories. A staff member from each department is nominated to enable the smooth conduct of the programme. Also ten trained students are selected to assist the staff members in each department to make the programme more interactive and vibrant. This activity was introduced during the academic year 2009-2010. Feed back is collected from the visitors at the end. CONNECT has imparted rich and everlasting scientific memories in their mind.
Hindu college Outreach Programme ( HORP)
The students are taken to the community from the college through a special programme HORP. This outreach programme was established with the noble purpose of motivating students in community service. HORP has adopted a nearby colony – a special village exclusively inhabited by the gypsies. The learners of our college are periodically visiting the colony to conduct programmes on Personality development, Yoga, Drawing, Reading skills, Arts & crafts, Jewel making, selfhygiene and Natural beauty tips. Through this practice the learners get a chance to act as mentors.

JUNE 2023- APRIL 2024
1.On 4.6.23 K.Essakiammal Participated and won 37 th position in the Environment Awareness Marathon 2023 held at Anna Stadium , Palayamkottai organized by Tamirabarani River Protection and Rejuvenation People Movement Tirunelveli.
2.On 5.6.23 Ten students from HORP Participated in the Mega Plantation2023 in the World Environment Day was organized by Eco Club ,NSS and L&T Constructions in the M.D.T Hindu College.
3.On 21.6.23 Regarding HORP Two maths department students were participated in the international yoga day celebration conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra at V.O.C Ground Palayamkottai and got appreciation certificate.
4.On 9.7.23 Three students were participated in the Rangoli competition regarding Nalla Sivan 100 th year celebration in the M.D.T School and they won 3rd prize receive certificate and momento.
5.On 11.7.23 To organize the World population day Awareness program. This Awareness was given by Dr.N.Vijalakshmi Medical officer Sasthri nagar ,pettai.
6.On 21.7.23 Health centre,HORP and Womens Grievance cell of our college jointly organized a “ Health Awareness Programme for girls students . Dr.N.Vijayalakshmi gave the special address on Health Awareness for the girls students and also Health checkup to the students.
7.On 22.8.23 To help the Gypsis four computer science students were participated in this event and they rendered the clothes to them.
8.On 26.8.23 to make an awareness to avoid plastic bags around Tirunelveli area shops and advised them to make use of jute ,paper bags.
9.On 28.8.23 Eight students are participated in the eloucation competition on Kalaingarin 100 th year celebration conducted by the Government Museum organized by government curator.
10. On 01.09.23 HORP work done book was issued by me to all the students to maintain them for their social work documentations.
11.On 5.9.23 Nine students were participated in the poster presentation and got 3rd prize regarding V.O.C 151 th Birthday celebration conducted by Government Museum,Tirunelveli.
12. On 27.9.23four students are participated in the speech competition regarding world environment day awareness conducted by the Government Museum organized by government curator.
13.On 17.09.23 six students were participated in the poster presentation competition on Kalaingarin 100 th year celebration conducted by the Government Museum organized by government curator.
14.On 22.9.23 Two maths department students as a member of Palluyir foundation and both of them are done the project green awareness program in the various area around Tirunelveli.
15.On 18.10.23 Rani Anna College 4 students and Er.Midhun as a member of palluyir foundation gave a training to make a sparrow hive preparation for our students after that this was hand over to the principal.
16.On 19.10.23 Dr.N.SankaraGomathi department of commerce to provide lunch for the old age home people regarding that she gave RS 3000 to the trusty.
17.On 05.11.23 Mohamed Subhani 2 nd year maths student won the first prize in the poster presentation regarding kalaingar 100 th year celebration organized by Government Museum, Tirunelveli.
18.On 21.12.23 &22.12.23 to provide some dresses to the flood affected people in my area Thachanalloor.
19.On 02.01.24 Preparation of sparrow boxes by Horp students and that boxes fixed in various areas around Tirunelveli.
20.On 06.01.24 make an awareness to avoid plastic bags around Tirunelveli area shops and advised them to make use of jute ,paper bags and yellow bags.
21 . 0n 11.01.24 Five Maths department students went to the various College in Tirunelveli city to train the students to craft sparrow boxes which will safeguard them.
22.On 22.1.24 Organized an awareness programme on food safety in The M .D.T Hindu College and 72 students were participated in this program .Mr.Ganesh Ram,from the Department of food safety,Government of Tamilnadu delivered a lecture on food safety.
23.On 27.1.24 M.Subbulakshmi has successfully completing a online course about social media management which was conducted by Mind Luster.
24.On 30.1.24 five students were participated in the Illakia Thiruvilla and got book prize coupen worth Rs 750 at PPL KALYANA MAHAL,Palayamkottai.
25.On 3.2.24 to 13.2.24 regarding Porunai Nellai Book Fair our college students were attend in the various competitions conducted by Government Museum , in the Town Trade Centre,Tirunelveli.
26.On 3.3.24 I was acting as a judge for speech competiion regarding womens day celebration that was organized by Government museum, Tirunelveli.
27. On 08.03.24 Regarding my social service I have received the sirantha Magalir Award from Tamil Thai Foundation UDYAM-TN-01-0013285 and also received the award certificate from Viveka Arakattalai,Lions Club Tirunelveli.
28.On 11.3.24 Thirteen students were participated in the Womens day celebration organized by viveka Arakattalai at Sona Mahal, Tirunelveli Town.
29. On 31.3.24 Regarding Ladies Jodi celebration so many competitions were held in the Sathya mahal, Palayamkottai . Fifteen students were participated got prizes and certificates.
Activities : 2022 - 2023
1.On 17.6.22 NPNK and Horp jointly organised & donated Rs. 5000 to a poor student for her marriage to provide dresses and some metal containners.
2.On 18.6.22 attended the one day program for Tamil Nadu state policy to address of homeless persons with mentall health issues person in the Anbin Illam meeting hall Murugan kuruchi that was organized by District Mental Health Program office Tirunelveli.
3.On 5.8.22 conducted the Students Induction Program and introduce about the HORP to the first year new students at 2.30 pm in the Auditorium,The M.D.T Hindu College,Tirunelveli.
4.On 15.8.22 Horp and Dr .K.Vishwa Sarojini Devi Department of Commerce donated Rs. 5000 to the old age home people for their cooking purpose to provide gas stove and cooker .
5.On 10.10.22 participated in the World Mental Health Day Awareness program to be organized by ECRC and R-SOYA Trust conducted in the Collector office from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm . Regarding that thirteen students were participated in this awareness program and Received the APPRECIATION MOMENTO and certificate for our college.
6.On 28.10.22 Participated in the National Seminar on Gender Equality and Women Self Reliance in Academic Environment: Current Perspectives’ organized by Department of Animal Science , in the Manonmaniam Sundarnar University,Tirunelveli.
7.On 25.2.23 Twenty one students were participated in the Porunai Nellai Book Fair and three students were participated in the continuous book reading for 24 hours.
8.On 28.2.23 Ten students were participated in the Science day competition conducted by M.S University ,Tirunelveli.
9.On 8.3.23 Ten students were attended the workshop on Cyber Security for International womens day celebration in the Science centre ,Tirunelveli.
Activities - 2017
DR.A.S.Ganga, Assistant Professor of Zoology (Coordinator, HORP) received the following awards.
“Best Social Service Award” from District commissioner ,Tirunelveli Corporation on 15.8.2017.
