The Department of English was established in 2010 with the aim of fostering a deep passion for language, literature, and creative expression among students. The department has started with sixty-four enthusiastic students.

Our dedicated faculty members inspire learners through a blend of innovative teaching methods and active research engagement. We strive to cultivate critical thinking skills, encourage effective communication, and nurture a lifelong appreciation for literature in a global context. In addition to academic excellence, our students actively participate in a variety of intercollegiate competitions, showcasing their talents in debates, literary events, creative writing contests, and other cultural activities. These events, often organized by other prestigious institutions, have provided our students with opportunities to demonstrate their skills and gain valuable exposure.

One of our notable achievements includes securing the 9th rank in Part II English in the academic years 2015–2018, accomplished by our student J.Meera Roashan. (all affiliated colleges under Manonmaniam Sundaranar University) This accomplishment stands as a testament to the hard work of our students and the guidance provided by our faculty.
